You are the God of both the right hand and the left. With the right hand You have lifted me up and with the left hand You have stretched me out. With the right hand You have held me fast and with the left hand You have veiled my eyes. With the right hand You have blessed and with the left hand You have corrected. Thank You for being a two-handed God!
Thank You for the many special people who have been those hands along the way this past year. Thank You for hands that helped us when we were tired. Thank You for hands that encouraged us when our faith was weak. Thank You for hands that cooked food, hands that cared for children that were not their own, hands that did laundry and even folded it, and hands that unexpectedly gave to ease financial burdens. May You bless those hands in the new year as they have blessed us in the old.
I don’t always stop long enough to offer up the thanks and praise You deserve in the midst of such extravagant love, but my feeble heart joyfully trembles now before Your might and mercy, Your glory and grace, Your height and depth, Your power and presence, Your right hand and Your left.
