Eating for Health and Eating for Pleasure

Only a wise and good parent knows how to strike the right balance between the bitterness of medicine and the sweetness of sugar in such a way as to promote both health and happiness in their children. Yesterday was day where, in the midst of a season of bitter medicine, my heavenly Father also provided a spoonful of sugar. I am confident that this current pill coming in the form of financial uncertainty will be good for our family. It will make us healthier and stronger; but it is a bitter pill nonetheless. So God, in His mercy, sprinkles in unexpected and prodigal blessings like He did yesterday so that His children do not lose heart even as that heart grows stronger. He is both physician and musician. He heals and delights the soul. He feeds us what we need to live and He feeds us what we need to enjoy the life He gives.

    1. We’re okay. Hope the post didn’t sound too apocalyptic! Things have been very tight lately and finding additional income has been difficult. It has been a real test of our trust and patience as we learn to wait upon the Lord. Nothing like borrowing change from your kids’ piggy banks to make one feel humble. Thanks for your concern and prayers. I’ll keep you updated.
